For SaaS teams whose board wants "an app store"
Market SeedMost SaaS platforms should not build a marketplace - or not yet. Build only on evidence.
Answer a short interview and paste the governance rules you have drafted. Your browser runs the build gate on four evidenced triggers, ranks curation, take-rate and seeding with the moves your answers cause, and checks the governance rules for owners, a removal path and the four market failures. Then the decision, and the rulebook.

How it works - and what is sourced
The gate follows the skill. Join the marketplaces customers already trust by default; buy embedded iPaaS when the need is many integrations fast; build only when customer pull, a supply signal, procurement friction and a staffed partner lifecycle all hold with evidence - otherwise a curated partner catalog first, with the failed triggers as the conditions to revisit. Curation is hybrid by default, tighter when apps read sensitive data, looser when supply is the constraint.
The take-rate starts at zero while seeding and is earned by distribution, never ambition: tiered once billing flows through you and partners win, flat only once the marketplace is the procurement gate - always with six months' notice and an enforced anti-circumvention rule. Governance answers who gets in, how value splits and how conflicts end, each with an owner and a removal path. Seed the hard side first, in one dense atomic network.
